FAQ’s

Should you not find the asnwer to your questions please contact the office at 705-674-9111. We will be happy to answer any questions.

What should I expect during the initial visit?

Your Naturopath will review your intake forms and ask you questions regarding your health and lifestyle (this may or may not include a physical exam). Once he has all the necessary information he will create an individualized treatment plan best suited to your needs and explain appropriate treatment options available to you. When your appointment is complete your Naturopath will print you a list of his recommendations at which time you will proceed to the reception area where one of our knowledgeable staff will assist you with your prescription.

How long are the naturopathic visits?

Initial visits are approximately 60 minutes long. Subsequent visits are approximately 30 minutes long.

How often am I required to come for a follow up?

The frequency of naturopathic visits varies from person to person. It will depend on what you are being treated for, the severity of your symptoms, and your individual response to treatment. Follow up visits are generally more frequent at first and then taper off as your health is restored.

How soon will I see changes?

Everyone is different and we all have unique issues and lifestyles. Some changes may be immediate and others may occur gradually over the course of months or even years. An individual’s commitment to follow their program and make the necessary recommended changes is their most powerful resource for improving their health.

I haven’t been to see my ND in a couple years? Do I need to start with the initial visit?

No. It is only necessary to have an initial visit once. However, you will need to see your Naturopath before resuming any past treatment protocols.

If I transfer from another ND do I still require an initial visit?

Yes, you must have an initial visit. It is unethical for a doctor to treat you without having personally taken a complete health history.

Do I need a referral?

No, referrals are not needed.

I am currently taking a lot of prescription medication from my MD. Is that okay?

It is fine as long as you let your Naturopath know all medications you are currently taking and inform them immediately of any dosage changes or new prescriptions.

What do you treat?

Naturopaths help with a wide range of health concerns, including but not limited to:
Degenerative Conditions(e.g. Diabetes, Heart Disease, Arthritis)

Can I claim expenses on income tax?

Yes, it is possible to decrease income tax with Naturopathic services.

Do I need to bring anything to my visits?

Yes, your Naturopath will need a list of all prescription and non prescription medications/supplements you are currently taking. Also if you have any recent test results, please bring them into your visit. The results can assist your Naturopath in making the best choices for your health.

What type of payments do you accept?

We accept Cash, Cheque, Interac, Visa, MasterCard and American Express.

How long will it take to see a Naturopathic Doctor?

Wait times depend solely on demand and availability. Initial consults are generally between 1 to 3 weeks and follow up visits between 1 to 2 weeks.

Do you ship products?

Yes, we usually ship by Purolator or by Federal Express. The shipping charges vary.

I live out of town. Do you offer phone or e-mail consults?
